Winston Hurlock is an ordained minister of religion, a recording vocal music soloist and music teacher. His musical career spans a number of years initially nurtured at the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music, where he earned the coveted “Associate, Royal Conservatory of music Toronto” diploma in voice and musical theory. Given his lifelong interest and adherence to musical excellence as a performing artist, he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and theology from Oakwood University, followed by a Master of Arts degree in voice and music history from Andrews University.

Over a thirty-two-year period, Pastor Hurlock ministered in the Ontario Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He has travelled extensively as a performing vocal soloist in Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Africa and the Caribbean. Additionally, he has made several appearances on ‘It Is Written Telecast’ as a vocal soloist and supporting panellist.  For fourteen years, he employed his management skills in organizing and leading the Ontario Conference camp meeting music program.

His accolades include the Kiwanis Festival of music award and the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee award. His love and appreciation of music and concerns regarding associated controversies, motivated him to research, author and publish his first book entitled, “Music and Worship, – Contemporary Issues in the Church“.

Pastor Hurlock has managed to successfully combine his dual love for pastoral ministry and music. In particular, his celebration and dedication to music have qualified him to speak authoritatively on the intersection between music and worship. Sobering are his views; they are timely and worthy of serious consideration.

Pastor Hurlock is also an author of one book, Music and Worship Contemporary Issues. He is happily married to his wife Norma Hurlock..
